The Katsina State Government has confirmed that a violent clash in Falale and Kadobe villages of Jibia Local Government Area resulted in the deaths of 15 people.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday by the State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, authorities said security forces have restored order and stabilized the affected communities following the incident.

According to the statement, the crisis began when vigilantes from the affected villages engaged a group described as repentant bandits, leading to the death of three persons. The confrontation reportedly triggered a reprisal attack that claimed additional lives in the communities.

Security operatives, including personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), members of the Civilian Watch (C-Watch), and community leaders, were said to have worked collaboratively to bring the situation under control.

The government noted that the joint effort helped prevent further casualties and ensured the restoration of peace in the affected areas.

Residents have been urged to remain calm and allow security agencies to carry out a full investigation into the incident. The government expressed sympathy with families of the victims and assured that justice would be pursued.

The administration of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda reaffirmed its commitment to securing lives and property across the state, stressing that it remains focused on achieving lasting peace.

The statement also highlighted that Jibia Local Government Area had experienced relative peace for over a year due to strategic security measures implemented by the current administration.

The government further called on residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities, noting that community support is essential for sustainable peace.

The statement was signed by Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Katsina State.
