Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed that the state remains a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the successful conduct of the party’s ward, local government and state congresses.

The Governor made the declaration at the APC State Congress held in Katsina, which drew delegates from the 361 wards across the 34 Local Government Areas of the state.

The congress culminated in the emergence of a new State Executive Committee through a consensus arrangement endorsed by party stakeholders.

Governor Radda commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise, describing it as a testament to the maturity, unity and discipline of the APC in Katsina State.

“This process demonstrates that Katsina APC remains united, organised and committed to democratic principles,” he said.

He lauded the Local Organising Committee for ensuring effective coordination from ward to state level, noting that adherence to due process guaranteed a transparent and credible exercise.

The Governor congratulated the newly elected officials, describing their emergence as a call to higher responsibility and dedicated service to both the party and the people of the state.

“Katsina State remains an APC state. All elected officials in this state are members of our great party. We expect the new leadership to consolidate on our achievements, strengthen party structures and promote unity at all levels,” he stated.

Governor Radda assured the new executive of his full cooperation and support as leader of the party in the state. He also reaffirmed the state’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging continued support for the Federal Government’s policies aimed at national development and economic prosperity.

“Katsina State will remain steadfast in its support for the President and the Federal Government. Together, we will build a stronger and more prosperous party,” he added.

Earlier, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee and former Deputy Governor, Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, stated that all procedures were conducted in compliance with the Electoral Act and the APC Constitution. He explained that consultations were held with relevant national committees and that necessary materials and candidate lists were duly submitted prior to the congress.

In his acceptance remarks, the newly elected State Chairman, Hon. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described his emergence as a collective mandate to serve the party with dedication and integrity.

“It is an honour not only to me but to the entire State Executive Committee. We pledge to serve the party, the state and the nation with transparency, inclusiveness and fairness,” he said.

The newly constituted State Executive Council has Hon. Bishir Gambo Saulawa as Chairman and Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa as Deputy Chairman. Other key officers include Hon.
