Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, under the platform of the Katsina State Local Government Chairmen Forum, have paid courtesy visits to former Governor of Katsina State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, and the incumbent Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, to congratulate them and reaffirm their unwavering support for the APC and the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Salisu Mamman Kadandani (Continental), said the visits were aimed at strengthening internal party unity, honouring key leaders for their contributions to governance, and consolidating the APC’s grassroots base across local government areas in the state.
During the visit to Masari, the stakeholders congratulated him on his recent appointment by President Tinubu as the Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors in the North-West geopolitical zone, while also retaining his position as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
In a statement issued at the Forum’s January 2026 stakeholders’ meeting, the group described the appointment as timely and strategic, considering the political significance of the North-West as Nigeria’s most populous voting bloc.
The Forum, which comprises leaders from the state’s 34 local government areas, noted that Masari’s over four decades of experience in politics and governance—having served as Speaker of the House of Representatives and two-term Governor of Katsina State—makes him well suited for the role. It expressed confidence that his experience and credibility would contribute significantly to the effective implementation of the Renewed Hope agenda across the North-West.
In his response, Masari expressed appreciation for the visit and urged party members to remain united, patient and committed to the reform objectives of the Tinubu administration. He also recalled his long-standing political struggle alongside prominent APC leaders in Katsina, including former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Tukur Ahmad Jikamshi, who currently serves as the Renewed Hope Coordinator in Katsina State and was part of the delegation.
The delegation later proceeded to the Government House in Katsina, where it paid a solidarity visit to Governor Radda and reiterated its full support for his administration and the APC at both state and national levels.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Kadandani commended Governor Radda for what he described as notable achievements recorded by his administration within a short period, particularly in key sectors of development and social welfare.
Alhaji Tukur Ahmad Jikamshi, in his remarks, outlined the operational framework of the Renewed Hope initiative in Katsina State, stating that the programme had gained wide acceptance across all local government areas and was fully prepared to support both federal and state governments, especially in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
“We are fortunate in Katsina State because we have tangible achievements and performance records of Governor Dikko Umar Radda to present to the people,” he said.
In his address, Governor Radda thanked the delegation for the visit and their continued support for his administration. He encouraged them to sustain the momentum and offered guidance on further strengthening party cohesion.
The governor also proposed the establishment of a special committee to identify individuals who contributed to the success of his administration and the party, with a view to exploring ways of supporting and recognising them.
“I advise you to set up a committee that will identify those who have contributed to our political journey, so that we can see how best to support them. I cannot identify everyone alone, but you can. The government will support this committee to ensure that everyone who has contributed is duly recognised,” he said.
The delegation comprised elders, veteran politicians and top APC stakeholders, including the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari, commissioners, special advisers, senior aides to the governor and other government officials.
The visits, conducted on Friday, January 23, 2026, were part of ongoing efforts to strengthen party unity and reaffirm support for the Renewed Hope agenda in Katsina State and the wider North-West region.
