Kano state government has announced total ban of the formation and operations of Hisbah Fisabilillahi in any part of the state.

The new organization, considered as a Hisbah Annex, was the initiative of former Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje under a charity foundation.
The Kano state Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf banned the new Hisbah initiative in an Executive Order 2025 on Friday.

The development was made known by the state Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya while briefing News men.
The government described the new Hisbah as an attempt tantamount to compromising the security of the state.

The information commissioner emphasized that, only the state Hisbah Board which was established through legislative act has the right to operate in the state.

He pointed out that it is totally illegally for any individual or group to commission any group of people into Hisba duties across the state.

Commissioner Waiya, therefore, warned that henceforth all activities of Hisbah Fisabilillahi are prohibited, and police officers are directed to arrest and prosecute any body found parading himself as operative of the proscribed Hisba.
