PDP Governors Mourn Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 11, 2025, in Yenagoa.

The forum, chaired by Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, conveyed its condolences to the government and people of Bayelsa State, as well as the family of the late deputy governor.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo, who had served as deputy governor since 2020, was described as a committed public servant whose leadership was defined by loyalty, humility, and a strong passion for the development of Bayelsa. He died at the age of 60.

A statement from the forum noted that his passing represents a significant loss not only to his family but also to the state and the nation. The governors described him as a dependable ally and a leader whose contribution to governance and humanity would be remembered for many years.

The forum prayed for God to grant the bereaved family the strength to bear the loss and to comfort the people of Bayelsa State.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s legacy, the governors said, will continue to inspire efforts toward a more developed Bayelsa.
