The Katsina State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a newly wedded groom who was discovered in a pool of blood at his residence in Tashar Buja, Jibia Local Government Area.
According to police sources, the incident was reported to the Jibia Division on November 23, 2025, at about 1:30 p.m., after the victim, identified only as Abdullahi (not his real name), was found motionless inside his home. Detectives deployed to the scene confirmed that the man had sustained a deep cut to the neck.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.
Police spokesperson DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said one suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the case, while investigators continue to piece together the events leading to the killing. He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, has directed a thorough and professional investigation.
The Command appealed to members of the public with relevant information to come forward, assuring that all disclosures will be treated with strict confidentiality.
The incident has sparked concern in the Jibia community as authorities work to uncover the motive behind the tragic death.
