The country has them in full measure, and some of them ‘work’ full time, most of the time. They can be found everywhere, but some parts are more UNBLESSED than the others with such people. Yours sincerely is talking about SYCOPHANTS. Nigeria is unfortunately controlled by them, directly or indirectly, to some extent. Heads or tails, they always win. They will never be found on the losing side.
AGIPS often fall over themselves to out-praise one another for the leader’s approval, for no reason other than to make good their path to illegal wealth. Not a small number of them are well educated, for that matter.
They will wholeheartedly welcome the devil himself, if he becomes a leader in Nigeria, because what matters to them is what they will make, to put into their thankless and insatiable pockets, NOT the positives that the country will get.
Of course, no one says a leader is supposed to be CONDEMNED all the time EVEN if he does something very well, or even just well. But he must not be praised all the time, especially whenever he comes back into the country from any trip, even if it is a meeting to SELL off the country, (Hook, Line and Sinker).
But NO nation, which is full of such persons progresses, because the leaders will think that they are doing the right thing and therefore, their (leaders) service is indispensable to the country. The youths (perpetual leaders of a tomorrow which however, never comes on these shores) will even think sycophancy is a necessary requirement for employment, or elevation at the workplace in the country.
The Northern variety of AGIPS are mostly the ones who sing the groggy sing-song that so-and-so person ‘must continue in office to finish their second term’, ‘there is security in Nigeria’, ‘there is no insecurity in our state’, ‘Nigeria has the best leader at the moment’, ‘there is security now in the country’, etc.
The country, and the UNTERNET, bear witness to all they keep telling us, and the entire world. Most, if not ALL, of what they say are pure LIES that nobody but them and the leaders ‘believe’.
And they will utter the same flattering words to the NEXT person or government in power, weather or not such belong to the same party as the previous ones.
Looking at the leader, without blinking an eyelid, some may even tell him that he is the ‘best thing to happen’ to the country, or state, depending on where they operate in the country. But they know, as the leader does too, that they are of course, lying. But the oga laps every untruth they utter, and the expression on his face appears to be urging for more.
AGIPS often mislead the leader into doing what a sane person would never do. Only when the person is out of office will he realise his folly in doing all that was suggested by his ‘co-workers’. Many of them follow the leader to wherever he goes most of the time, giving him a close marking (as soccer players would say in their parlance).
May God take Nigeria out of the CONTROL of AGIPS, and make them irrelevant in deciding the fate of the country.
