In a defiant show of party strength, Hon. Aminu Ahmad Chindo (Sadaukin Katsina) has dismissed claims that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is dead in Katsina State, declaring instead that the party remains vibrant and firmly rooted across the state.

Speaking at a rally organised by the PDP Restoration Project Katsina State on Saturday, 12th July 2025, Chindo reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP and ruled out any possibility of defection. The event, held to galvanise support for the party ahead of future elections, was attended by prominent party stakeholders including Katsina State PDP Chairman, Hon. Nura Amadi Kurfi; PDP Zonal Chairman, Hon. Sanusi Abdullahi Fari; PDP Youth Leader, Hon. Nura VC Dutsinma; Alhaji Shehu Muhammad; Hon. Ibrahim Galadima; and Alhaji Hassan Maiwake, among others.

“In the 2023 elections, it was the votes from Katsina that gave our presidential candidate a win here. Anyone saying PDP is dead is not being truthful maybe they themselves are politically dead. The PDP is still strong and active,” Chindo said.

The former lawmaker also announced his intention to recontest for the House of Representatives seat representing Katsina Federal Constituency, insisting that the seat rightly belongs to him. He described his previous electoral loss as an error that would not be repeated.

Chindo’s declaration received strong backing from the state party leadership. Hon. Nura Amadi Kurfi, the PDP Chairman in Katsina, commended Chindo’s longstanding dedication to the party and his developmental efforts across the constituency, particularly in empowering youths and supporting party structures.

Highlighting his commitment to youth development, a group of young beneficiaries employed through Chindo’s efforts into federal agencies including the Federal Road Safety Corps, Fire Service, Nigeria Civil Defence, and Immigration Service presented him with an award of recognition. They praised him for facilitating employment opportunities and reaffirmed their loyalty to his political vision.

The event marked a renewed call for unity and resilience within the PDP, as party loyalists brace for upcoming political contests.
