The Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV) has graduated 634 students for the 2025 academic session, equipping each with free startup tools to support their journey into self-employment.

The graduation ceremony took place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, marking a major milestone in the state’s push to reduce youth unemployment through skills development. Each graduate received professional tools tailored to their area of training, including equipment for tailoring, electrical works, welding, auto mechanics, carpentry, computer technology, phone repairs, and salon services.

In his address, the head of the institution, Engr. Abdullahi Kabir Kofar Soro, commended the graduates for their discipline and performance during their training, noting that they had acquired skills to professional standards. He added that KYCV students had already contributed significantly to the state, producing furniture used in public schools and carrying out mechanical repairs on government vehicles.

Engr. Kofar Soro praised Governor Dikko Umar Radda for his unwavering support, highlighting the state’s financial commitment to equipping the graduates. He said the gesture was aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and ensuring that the skills acquired translated into economic opportunities.

Governor Radda, while addressing attendees, commended the management of KYCV for their dedication to youth development. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding vocational education, saying more youths across the state would be absorbed into the programme in the coming years.

The governor announced that steps were underway to upgrade the institution’s status and recognition, assuring the graduates that KYCV certificates would soon gain formal accreditation, enabling them to secure jobs both within and outside Katsina State.

The event attracted top government officials, traditional rulers, parents, association leaders, and prominent dignitaries, including former Katsina State Governor Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema and Dr. Usman Bugaje.
