The award ceremony held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, brought together senior union leaders from the National Council, Federal Council, and Commission chapters. Speakers at the event praised Dr. Shehu’s transparent, inclusive, and staff-friendly leadership approach.

In his response, Dr. Shehu expressed gratitude to the Union and reaffirmed his belief in sincerity, fairness, and open dialogue as essential principles of leadership. “From the onset of my tenure, I made a deliberate effort to listen to staff concerns and engage constructively. This has fostered the peaceful atmosphere we enjoy today,” he noted.

He further highlighted his upbringing under a civil servant father, saying it shaped his values of humility, service, and respect for the independence of workers’ unions.
