KATSINA – As Muslims across the globe prepare to mark Eid al-Adha 2025, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has extended heartfelt Sallah greetings to the people of the state and the wider Muslim Ummah, calling for unity, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to peace and development.
In a message released ahead of the celebration, Governor Radda urged citizens to use the festive period as an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and acts of kindness, especially towards the less privileged. He noted that the essence of Eid al-Adha lies in faith, obedience, and sacrifice — values he described as vital to both spiritual growth and community development.
“As we commemorate this sacred occasion, I encourage everyone to draw inspiration from the spirit of Eid — a spirit rooted in submission to the will of Allah, in love, and in service to one another,” he said.
The Governor made a special appeal to pilgrims observing the Arafat rites to pray for Katsina State, especially for sustained peace, unity, and an end to insecurity. He also appreciated those observing the fast at home, describing their prayers as equally significant.
Noting the coincidence of this year’s Eid with the onset of the rainy season, Governor Radda prayed for abundant rainfall and a fruitful harvest, emphasizing the critical role of agriculture in the state’s economy. He encouraged residents to tap into various support initiatives under his administration’s Building Your Future agenda.
Reflecting on his administration’s two-year journey, Governor Radda highlighted strides made in key areas including education, security, agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure, energy, and youth empowerment. However, he stressed that more needs to be done.
“We have recorded measurable progress, but we’re not slowing down. Every community, every citizen, deserves the dividends of democracy,” he affirmed.
Governor Radda also reminded citizens of their role in sustaining peace and protecting public assets. “Development is a shared responsibility. Government alone cannot achieve it. Let us all work together to protect what we’re building,” he said.
He called on residents to extend compassion to the needy during the celebrations. “Eid is not just a celebration — it’s an opportunity to uplift others. Even the smallest gesture of kindness can make a difference.”
Governor Radda went on to commend the Nigerian armed forces, the Katsina Community Watch Corps, and all frontline operatives battling insecurity in the state. He hailed their courage and reaffirmed his administration’s unflinching support for their efforts.
“To everyone keeping us safe — your bravery is deeply appreciated. We stand with you, and we pray for your continued strength and success,” he said.
Reiterating his personal commitment to the progress of Katsina State, Governor Radda called for continuous prayers and collective action from all citizens. “We are building a better Katsina, but I cannot do it alone. With your support, unity, and Allah’s mercy, we will overcome every challenge.”
Eid Mubarak to all!
