KATSINA  – The Katsina State Government has expressed resolve to partner with the Federal Polytechnic, Daura and Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, in launching skills acquisition programmes for students and unemployed youths in the State.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda stated this when he received the management teams of the two Federal Institutions, who separately paid him a visit at the Government House, Katsina on Thursday.

Radda said his administration is determined to address the unemployment crisis in the State, to assist in tackling the problem of insecurity and youth restiveness.

According to him, the State Government plans to release the popular Songhai Integrated Farms at Dutsin-Ma and Funtua to the private sector to help drive his administration’s agricultural blueprint for the state.

Similarly, the Governor added that, to mitigate the hardship of transportation faced by students of both Federal Institutions, the state government will be providing brand new buses to the State Transport Coy, KTSTA, to ply the Daura and Dutsin-Ma routes daily.

To the management of the Federal Polytechnic Daura, he said the pledge of N25 million made by the previous administration of Governor Aminu Bello Masari will soon be redeemed.
