Katsina Football Academy Distributes Kits to Newly Inducted Players

The Katsina Football Academy has distributed complete sets of training kits to 17 newly inducted players during an official ceremony held at the conference hall of Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

The event was flagged off by the Katsina State Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development, Hon. Aliyu Lawal Zakari, who congratulated the players on their successful admission into the state-owned football academy.

In his remarks, the commissioner urged the players to uphold discipline, train hard, and remain committed to fulfilling their football aspirations. He highlighted the academy’s growing reputation, noting its achievements such as the selection of three players into the U-16 national team, the NPFL Youths Team, and nine others who secured opportunities with the Bondy Academy in Paris.

Sporting Director of the Academy, Shamsuddeen Ibrahim, disclosed that the selected players were drawn from various local government areas across the state after a rigorous screening process. He announced that each player received two pairs of boots, training kits, socks, jerseys, and handbags.

He reaffirmed the academy's commitment to nurturing the players with strategic training aimed at achieving long-term development goals.

The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries including Alhaji Usman Isyaku, Special Adviser on Public Service Reforms representing the Governor’s wife, State Director of Sports Abdu Bello, and Hajia Hauwa Radda.

Highlights of the occasion included a facility tour of the academy and the presentation of an award to Her Excellency Hajia Fatima Dikko Umaru Radda.
