The State Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, made this known during the operational visit of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, to frontline troops in Katsina. The visit was part of activities commemorating the 61st anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
Malam Faruk highlighted the invaluable role played by the Nigerian Air Force in the ongoing fight against insecurity, stressing that their efforts remain vital in safeguarding lives and property.
According to him, the Katsina State Government has introduced several strategic measures, including community engagement initiatives, to tackle insurgency and kidnapping in affected local government areas.
“These collaborative efforts are already yielding encouraging results as we strive towards building a safer and more secure society,” the Deputy Governor said.
In his address, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar urged troops to remain vigilant and focused on the mission of defending the nation and protecting citizens. While acknowledging the progress made in various theatres of operation, the Air Chief reminded personnel that "the fight is far from over."
He further encouraged the troops to intensify their efforts in combating terrorism and insurgency, stressing the importance of perseverance until peace is fully restored.
Reflecting on the NAF’s 61st anniversary, Air Marshal Abubakar noted that the celebrations are not merely ceremonial but a demonstration of the Air Force’s operational readiness and airpower capabilities.
He assured Nigerians that NAF platforms remain fully deployed across all operational zones, with the capacity to carry out precise and effective airstrikes against hostile elements.
