Mangal Pledges Student Hostel Construction After Receiving Honorary Doctorate from Wudil University

Billionaire businessman and Chairman of MaxAir and Mangal Group, Alhaji (Dr.) Dahiru Barau Mangal, CON, has pledged to construct a 500-bed student hostel at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State.

Mangal made the announcement on Saturday, 10 May 2025, shortly after the university conferred on him an honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration, in recognition of his contributions to educational development in Nigeria.

The announcement came during the institution’s 5th Combined Convocation Ceremony, which also saw honorary awards presented to several distinguished individuals, including former Kano State Governor Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso; Alhaji Mustapha Ado Muhammad (Amascco); Dr. Ahmad Adeniyu Raji, SAN; and Engineer Prince Arthur Ikpechuku Eze.

The convocation was attended by Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, his deputy Comrade Aminu A. Gwarzo, traditional rulers from Daura and Gaya, and other prominent dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria.
