The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has officially launched its Gender Desk and Women’s Network, a landmark initiative aimed at promoting gender inclusion and equity within the organisation.

The event, held earlier this week, was attended by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who was warmly received by Dr. Dick Irri, Coordinating Director of the Medium and Government Taxpayers Group. Representing the Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Dr. Irri delivered the welcome address and reaffirmed FIRS's commitment to fostering a more inclusive work environment.

In her keynote address, Hajiya Imaan underscored the critical role of institutional support in achieving gender equality and commended FIRS for taking proactive measures to empower women and strengthen inclusivity across its operations.

The high point of the event was the formal unveiling of the Gender Desk and Women’s Network by the Honourable Minister. The programme also featured panel discussions with key stakeholders, culminating in closing remarks by Angel Fadahunsi, Chairperson of the FIRS Gender Equality Committee.
