Katsina State Chief Judge Grants Bail To 103 Inmates And Discharge 3 others At MSCC Katsina New

In the continuation of the first quarter of the jail delivery exercise for the year 2025 to decongest correctional facilities in Katsina State, the Hon. Chief judge, Musa Danladi had directed and delegated his power to the High Court Judge, Justice AB Bawale to conduct the visit and perform the delivery exercise at medium security Custodial centre Katsina New on Wednesday 26th March 2025.

During the exercise, The chief judge grants bail to a total number of 103 inmates and discharge three others based on health condition, duration of stay in custody, age and industry while in custody.

You can recall that last week, during the first quarter of the jail delivery exercise for 2025 held at Medium Security Custodial Centre Katsina Old, a total number of 91 inmates were granted bail and four inmates were released.

The Hon. Chief Judge commended the hard work and dedication of officers and men of the Nigerian Correctional Service Katsina command, and urged them to keep up the good work. He added that the command is among the best in Nigeria in terms of service delivery.

In his address, the Controller of Corrections Katsina State Command, CC Umar Baba, on behalf of the Controller-General of Nigerian Correctional Service, Sylvester N Nwakuche MFR,mni, thanked His Lordship and the judiciary in the state for the robust synergy with the Command and for coming to the aid of the inmates, stressing that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.

The controller also expressed deep gratitude to the CJ not only for granting mercy and pardon to the  inmates but also for going  extra mile to provide relief items and welfare packages to the inmates.

He further advised the freed inmates to be of good behaviour, desist from crimes, and make good use of the skills they have acquired while in the facilities.
