Architects in Katsina Hold Iftar to Strengthen Unity and Collaboration

The Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), Katsina State Chapter, has organized an Iftar gathering for its members to foster unity and strengthen professional collaboration.

The event, held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the association's secretariat in the old Katsina State Ministry of Works building, brought together architects, engineers, and other professionals in the construction industry.

In his address, the state chairman of NIA, Architect Kamaluddeen Dahiru FNIA, RARCON, RTC, stated that the annual Iftar tradition has been observed since 2012 to enhance brotherhood and cooperation among professionals in the field. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and collective efforts in advancing architectural practice and urban development in Katsina and across Nigeria.

Arc. Kamaluddeen urged members to remain committed to excellence and mutual support, stressing that such dedication is key to sustaining the industry’s growth. He also commended the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, for sponsoring the event, describing it as a significant contribution to the profession.

Additionally, the chairman extended condolences to the Katsina State Governor over the passing of his mother, praying for divine mercy upon her soul.

Key speakers at the event included Arc. Abdussalam, Arc. Abdulmajid Salihu, Muntari Sani (Sarkin Yamman Daura), Mustapha Maikudi Kankia (Dujiman Kankiya), and Engineer Abbas Sada Sani, among others.

The gathering featured discussions on key issues affecting the construction industry, distribution of Qur’ans and translated books in English and Hausa, and networking opportunities. Participants lauded the initiative and called for more such engagements to enhance skills and foster industry growth.
