On Saturday, March 22, 2025 (22nd Ramadan 1446), various health organizations paid a courtesy visit to Islamic scholar Shaykh Yakub Yahya in Katsina to express their appreciation for the support they receive in their humanitarian efforts.
The delegation included global health agencies such as UNICEF and WHO, alongside independent health organizations like Cigari Foundation, APNET International, and HEUktLG. Also present were representatives from the Katsina State Primary Healthcare Agency and the Federal Government’s Primary Healthcare Authority.
Speaking on behalf of the organizations, Dr. Mukhtar, head of the Katsina State Primary Healthcare Agency, highlighted the worsening healthcare challenges in the region. He emphasized the need for community involvement in addressing these issues and commended the support from followers of Sayyid Ibrahim Zakzaky (H) in facilitating healthcare programs.
Alhaji Umar Ahmed, a consultant with UNICEF, discussed efforts to assess the population in affected areas to provide accurate data for government planning. He urged communities to cooperate in the data collection process to ensure effective healthcare interventions.
In his remarks, Shaykh Yakub Yahya urged health organizations to be honest with the government about the severity of the healthcare crisis. He noted that inadequate medical services often lead to public distrust of healthcare initiatives. According to him, the government bears the ultimate responsibility for the health and well-being of its citizens.
Shaykh Yakub Yahya further stated that the movement led by Sayyid Zakzaky (H) shares a common goal with health organizations—to uplift society from poverty, hunger, and disease. He called for continued collaboration to improve public health and overall well-being.
