The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has reaffirmed his commitment to excellence in road safety management by facilitating foreign training for FRSC personnel.
The training, sponsored by the Government of India under the Indian Technical Education Cooperation (ITEC) programme, focuses on strategic road safety management. Participants will receive advanced training in key areas, including road safety policy, traffic management, road safety administration, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-making.
Speaking on the initiative, the Corps Marshal emphasized FRSC’s dedication to enhancing road safety expertise. "This foreign training programme is a vital step in equipping our staff with the skills needed to drive our safety initiatives forward," he stated.
The first batch, comprising five personnel from the National Headquarters and field commands, will undergo training from March 17 to 28, 2025, while the second phase will run from March 30 to April 11, 2025, in India.
Under Shehu Mohammed's leadership, FRSC has prioritized staff welfare, continuous training, and strategic partnerships. His tenure has seen the harmonization of ranks for 1,400 personnel and training opportunities for over 3,000 staff members in various disciplines.
This foreign training is one of many initiatives aimed at strengthening the Corps’ capacity and enhancing road safety management in Nigeria.
