The Executive Director of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Yunusa Abdullahi Dankama, has held a strategic meeting with the Board Chairman, directors, and other board members as part of preparations for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
In his opening remarks, the Board Chairman, Alhaji Kabir Bature Sarkin Alhazai, represented by board member Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Radda, commended the officials for their efforts in last year’s Hajj operation. He urged them to work together to ensure another successful pilgrimage.
Providing an update on preparations, Alhaji Yunusa Dankama disclosed that the board has received an allocation of 3,680 Hajj slots from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). So far, approximately 1,850 pilgrims have completed their registration and paid their Hajj fares.
He further briefed members on the outcome of a recent meeting convened by NAHCON, which focused on airlift arrangements. According to him, Max Air Limited has been approved as the official airline to transport Katsina State pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. He also revealed that Katsina pilgrims will be among the last batch to be airlifted for the 2025 Hajj.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Badaru Bello Karofi, the board’s Public Relations Officer, reiterated the commitment of the Pilgrims Welfare Board to ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated Hajj operation.
Alhaji Yunusa Dankama expressed gratitude to Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, for his continuous support and cooperation in facilitating the board’s activities.
