Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D., CON, has approved a series of infrastructure, economic, healthcare, and empowerment projects aimed at enhancing development across the state.
A. Infrastructure & Economic Development
- Establishment of an assembly plant for tricycles, motorcycles, and electric bicycles in Katsina State.
- Procurement of 500 tricycles for distribution to youths and associations to reduce transportation costs.
- Change of scope from a bridge to a dam construction along Kunduru-Katsaka Road to boost irrigation activities.
- Provision of spare batteries and a 10% discount on the actual price of tricycles for beneficiaries.
- Construction of a double-coat surface dress road from Haj Camp to NYSC Camp, linking Daura-Mani Road (3.6KM) with a 0.6KM spur to Masallacin Dillalai.
B. Healthcare Sector
- Upgrading of Daura Comprehensive Health Centre to a General Hospital at a cost of N2.46 billion.
- Renovation and rehabilitation of General Hospital, Mani, at N999.99 million.
- Upward review of the contract for the construction and equipping of a Pharmaceutical Production Factory at General Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital (GARSH) from N1.69 billion to N4.33 billion to meet NAFDAC and Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria standards.
C. Empowerment & MSME Support
- Transfer of N1 billion from the Matching Fund Scheme Account to the Managed Fund under the Bank of Industry to enhance MSMEs' access to financing.
- Formulation of a State Policy to allocate 30% of intervention programs exclusively for women, in line with global and national policies.
D. Education & Institutional Development
- Approval of recommendations on the Visitation Panel Report for the Katsina State College of Health Sciences and Technology and Private Health Training Institutions, along with the establishment of a Whitepaper Committee for implementation.
E. Government Administration & Welfare
- Procurement of official vehicles (Toyota 4Runner 2023 Model) for newly elected local government chairmen and the proposed Local Government Inspectorate Department.
- Procurement and distribution of essential commodities to support citizens during Ramadan.
These initiatives reflect the administration's commitment to infrastructure, healthcare, economic empowerment, education, and public welfare in Katsina State.
