GOVERNMENT HOUSE, KATSINA
PRESS RELEASE
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has praised the efforts of young people in supporting vulnerable members of society during the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking at the distribution of Ramadan food items by Naufal Ahmed, Director General of Katsina Information and Communications Technology (KATDICT), through Naufal Ahmad Foundation to 500 households in Katsina, Governor Radda expressed his appreciation for the youth-led initiative.
"Today, we gather to express our gratitude to Allah for this remarkable initiative by our youth, who have taken it upon themselves to serve the community. It is truly commendable that young people are thinking of ways to assist the less privileged, particularly women, in such an impactful manner. This act of generosity sets an example for others, especially the youth, to emulate," the Governor stated.
Governor Radda encouraged beneficiaries to share the received items with those who may not have benefited directly from the program.
"I urge the beneficiaries to extend their blessings by sharing with neighbours who may not have received support. This will strengthen love, unity, and our collective commitment to acts of worship and service to humanity," he said.
The Governor also remarked on the significance of focusing on women beneficiaries, noting, "I am particularly pleased to see women benefiting from this initiative because supporting women means supporting the entire community. When women receive help, they, in turn, uplift their families and society at large."
He commended the organizers for their dedication, stating, "I sincerely commend Naufal Ahmad, the Director-General of KATDICT, and the committee members for their dedication to this noble cause. Your efforts, though starting small, are growing steadily, and with Allah's blessings, they will continue to flourish. This is how impactful initiatives begin—with sincerity, persistence, and the willingness to help others."
The Governor also shared, "At Gwagware Foundation, we have been engaged in similar charitable activities for the past nine years. What started as a personal initiative, using our own resources, has now grown to attract support from others who are willing to contribute to community development. This is the essence of selfless service—giving for the sake of Allah and trusting that He will multiply the rewards."
Naufal Ahmed, the Founder of the foundation attributed his inspiration to the Governor's dedication to humanitarian service.
"This Ramadan package is part of the lessons I learned from the State Governor who dedicated himself in service to humanity," Ahmed said.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Radda "for his inclusivity in carrying along young men and women in governance."
Earlier, in his sermon, Sheikh Yakubu Musa Hassan, member of the National Trustees of JIBWIS, reminded Muslims that "providing food support to needy attracts fruitful reward from Allah, particularly during this period of Ramadan."
He urged all leaders to "emulate Naufal Ahmed as the best way to have Allah's mercy in the present situation and ensure the success of the current administration."
During the event, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, donated ₦560,000, while the member representing Katsina in the State House of Assembly, Ali Abu Albaba, contributed ₦500,000 to support the initiative.
The event was attended State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Hon. Ishaq Shehu Dabai; Economic Adviser to the Governor, Nura Khalil Nura; Chairman-elect, Katsina LG, Hon. Isah Miqdad among other government officials.
