Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi State has alleged political persecution following her removal from a Senate committee responsible for regional development. She claimed the decision was influenced by accusations that she was bringing development projects from the South to the North.

Her remarks came after a heated session in the Senate, where she was seen pointing a finger at Senate President Godswill Akpabio, asserting that she was not afraid of him. She maintained that her only goal was to ensure her constituency benefited from industrial and economic advancements.

In addition to her removal from the committee, Senator Natasha revealed that she had been barred from attending overseas training programs organized for lawmakers. “I have to personally fund my participation in any beneficial program. I won’t mention names for now, but when the time is right, I will expose everything,” she stated.

She further claimed that there were ongoing threats to suspend her from the Senate. She made these revelations during a live phone call with Ordinary President Ahmad Musa of Berekete Family, who commended her courage and assured her of public support.

Ahmad Isa also attempted to contact Senate President Godswill Akpabio for a response. While Akpabio initially answered, he later ended the call and did not respond to further attempts to reach him.
