Katsina Selects Nine Footballers for International Training

A team of scouts from France and Canada has selected nine footballers from Katsina State for international training under the Katsina State Sports Development Agency.

The State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Aliyu Lawal Shargalle, announced this while leading the delegation of foreign scouts to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda. The governor, represented by his deputy, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting talented athletes in securing opportunities abroad.

According to Shargalle, 168 players participated in the selection process, including those from Bakori Football Academy and Musa Haro Football Academy. The selected players were grouped into three categories by Bondy Academy (France) and Tabik Sports Academy. Four players will depart immediately, another four will follow, while the last player will travel later.

Governor Radda fully funded the selection program to promote sports development and youth empowerment in Katsina. Additionally, he approved a delegation from the Sports Development Agency to visit Doha, Qatar, for further collaboration.

The Chairman of the Katsina State Sports Development Agency, Ahmad Mohammed, revealed that the selection process spanned five days, emphasizing the significance of this achievement.

Leaders from Bondy Academy and Tabik Sports Academy, Aacim Zahiri and Mr. Pascal Azuma, respectively, expressed their commitment to conducting annual selections in Katsina State.
