Recently, the Arewa Unity Forum issued out some important press statements that portrayed it to be a very serious organisation, which is poles apart from the one that it dished out not long ago. In that press statement it lambasted the immediate past governor of Katsina state, Right Honourable Aminu Bello Masari, over a declaration that he HAD never made.

The forum recently issued out some press statements such as, “Why Devaluating The Democracy Reforms?”, “REPLY TO NORTHWEST GOVERNORS FORUM ON WORKING TO ENHANCE FOOD PRODUCTION IN THE ZONE STATES”, “AREWA UNITY FORUM OPINION FOR UNITY AND PROGRESS OF NORTHERN REGION COMMUNITIES”, and “SUGGESTIONS FOR ENHANCING EDUCATION IN NORTHERN NIGERIA”, among others.

All these press statements are talking more or less about the advancement of Nigeria and, in particular, the Northern Region. They were not talking about the narrow interest of some individuals or of an individual, in the country. And that is exactly what the forum should do, and avoid falling victim of some undesirable politicians. Its statements should focus on addressing issues that are beneficial to the country, and the Northern region.

The forum will also get added value and credibility if it sticks to one method of signing its press statements. Let the statements be consistently signed by either the Chairman, or the Secretary or both of them, but never haphazardly, as is sometimes done. It also makes the statements easily believable.

In future, while referring to President Tinubu about his evil intentions to destroy the Northern region, or whenever he exhibits his undemocratic tendencies, it is better for the organisation to call a spade a spade, not a bent hoe. Because whatever shape or form one gives the SKUNK in the hope of beautifying it, it will always STINK the same, anyway.

That is why I always stand by Dr. Garuz Gololo, Hajiya Naja’atu Mohammed, Dan Bello and the Ordinary President, most of who, though staunch members of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC), oppose the CORRUPT, CLUELESS and UNDEMOCRATIC practices of the Tinubu regime. They do not shy away from telling the truth directly to those in power. They do not burnish the truth with any pleasantries, just because they are talking to so called important people. Most of the so called important people are only so in name, but not in their actions.

Much ado is done about Hajiya Naja’atu now becoming a staunch opponent of Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA). Such people are forgetting that politics is not static, but dynamic. It changes with time and circumstances. Many videos and old newspapers are trending copiously on the social media, where the NSA had once called the President, the Senate President, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF)and three others, including another key member of the Nigerian Senate, as “The big thieves who stole from their states’s treasuries”. He was then the Chairman (pioneer) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and all were former state governors.

The same Malam Ribadu has fallen apart with his erstwhile close friend and immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasiru El-Rufa’i because of political differences. Former Minister and past Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, derisively dismissed the appointment of Malam Nuhu Ribadu as the NSA, saying that he did not have the maturity and experience to hold such an important office.

 Even in the same political camp, associates do fall apart, as did the present Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, and his boss, mentor and predecessor in office, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i, who is now facing a probe by the Kaduna State House of Assembly over alleged money laundering during his tenure.

The biggest political falling apart may appear to be between Engineer Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Political Party (NNPP) and Dr. AbdulLahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The two had enjoyed decades of political togetherness, culminating in the former becoming a governor, and the later his deputy, before he himself became a two term governor of their mutual state.

To be sure, the actions and preoccupations of the Nigerian leaders at the moment appear to be shortchanging the ordinary citizen at any given opportunity, which explains their do or die desires to occupy high offices and positions, with the disastrous result of unprecedented corruption and decay in the country.

The opposition to, and the impact of, the unfortunate state of affairs in Nigeria are not limited to a particular religion or a particular region or a particular ethnic group, or a particular political party, they are encompassing and spontaneous developments that spring up all over the country. Former supporters of the presidential aspiration, candidature and the victory of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu across the regions, have today turned into his bitter OPPONENTS. His unprecedented corruption, his clueless regime, his never-ending unfriendly economic policies, his ethnic bigotry and vindictive style of leadership have impacted NEGATIVELY on the nation.

He has appointed only his tribespeople to ALL the ministries, agencies and departments, described as the Commanding Heights of the Nigerian economy. To date, President Tinubu, who was rated as the third (3rd) most corrupt person in the entire world, has given his tribespeople more than 75% of the appointments he has made.

Fortunately for the country, MOST of Tinubu’s tribespeople are enlightened enough not to be his willing accomplices, or follow him blindly, simply because it is EMILOKAN, as he himself puts it. But for him, it is a great opportunity to steal as much as possible, so much in fact that the global anti corruption watchdog, the Organised Crime And Corruption Project (gave him the uncomplimentary title of the third (3rd) most corrupt person in the world in the year 2024. Not only was the president corrupt, he also corrupted those around him.

All Nigerians who cherished the oneness of the country will not fail to condemn and distance themselves from the countless attempts of the Tinubu undemocratic regime to pitch the rest of the country against the Northern region, with the undisguised sinister mission to divide and take back the nation to her retrogressive past. The President is getting the willing support and the active connivance of some self serving Northerners, among whom are those who desperately want to occupy some high offices in order to have unfettered access to steal from the coffers of the Commonwealth, in the name of working for the people.

Yours sincerely in the struggle for a better Nigeria, and a prosperous North, has written about 170 articles on the same topic over a period of a little above one year. I am not bragging, but it must be understood that it is done in the hope that the region will get a better deal from the central government more than it is getting under the Tinubu regime. The articles, which are shared on the social media, not only criticise, but condemn President Tinubu for his undisguised attempt to excise the Northern Region from Nigeria. Those who are in doubt would do well for themselves to check the social media.

Despite his monumental failure in his first term, and his subtle ploy to excise the region out of the Nigerian union, some people who call themselves Northerners, are still with him all the way. The president has recently given the matching order to all his ministers of Northern extraction to go to the region and change the negative impression that most of the citizens have formed about him. This is with a view to shoring up the image before the 2027 presidential election. While the Northern ministers are in their region engaged with cleaning up his messy image, himself and ministers from the south are busy with the job of developing their region.

But a governor in one of the states in the North is gleefully declaring the ‘success’ of the APC at the presidential election in 2027 in his state as a fait accompli. According to him, “Baba has done very well that he does not have to campaign here for reelection, because   State is his own already”.

The minister of a very important ministry, visits the Northern region only to, either campaign for the president’s reelection, or to cancel some projects under his ministry, based on some trumped up reasons, that supposedly came to light during the Tinubu Presidency.

Also, the Northern Region is alleged by the President Tinubu supported secessionists, to be ‘an interloper, and a parasite’ which is unnecessarily carried along by the rest of the hard working and resources-endowed parts of the country. This is clearly a false narrative, not dissimilar to ‘Giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it’.

Well, the Tinubu regime appears to have spokespeople steeped in the teaching of the Goebel’s school of propaganda, which believes that ‘a lie told too often becomes the truth’, and that the manipulated citizens will swallow it line, hook and sinker, without question. That is why the APC top brass live in denial of the hard and harsh situation in the country, and the non contribution of the Northern Region to the development of the country. 

Some Nigerians of Northern extraction, belonging to the much hated Hausa/Fulani stock, distinguished themselves as the proud INVENTORS of some revolutionary world inventions that are poised to positively change the future of the social media, racing, driving and sporting world. Their foreign bases call them ‘Nigerians’, NOT ‘Northern Nigerians’.

I am talking about the young man AbdulLhi Shu’aibu Damat, who created SINNTS social platform to rival FACEBOOK and TIK TOK, and give Africa and the rest of the world a more powerful and and all encompassing choice in that genres. I am talking about a brilliant mathematician, Dr. Idris Ahmed who has developed four patented devices, and currently wòrks as the Lead Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover cybersecurity department. The famous name in the global car industry, was formerly a British carmaker, but now owned by BMW of Germany.

 Dr. Idris invented a revolutionary racing engine that is believed to have the potential to change the face of motor racing (Formula One variety). I am also talking about the boxing world  champion from Daura, Musa  popularly known as MB by the legion of his US supporters. And, the earlier acknowledged genius, not a recent phenomenon, Jelani Aliyu, who invented the first and famous electric car, VOLT, for the US General Motors.

Then there are the many farmers large and small, who farm the vast arable Arewa land for profit (large scale), and for eating (subsistence), to prove that the region is not the ‘parasite’ that some people not only want the world to believe, but even want to be free of, for good.

The Arewa Unity Forum must also regularly beam its searchlights on the states in the North, because many of its chief executives are not really up and doing about the collective interest of their citizens. They are mostly concerned about advancing their personal interest.

It should be instructive to the organisation that If one is serious about winning, then one  must know and understand in advance the strategy and strength of the monster, before striking it. It is unnecessary to waste time on knowing its weaknesses, they will automatically manifest themselves, when the two are understood.

There are simply too many materials, including video clips, old and current pages of newspapers, and other assorted documents trending on the social media, lamenting, complaining and worrying about the inefficiency of the corrupt and clueless regime of President Tinubu, to say enough about the bad situation that the country has found itself in.

Let the attack dogs begin (their paid assignment) against us, including the wolves that come in sheep’s clothing. We are ready for them, because the truth can never be overshadowed by lies, in whatever guise they may appear.

By the way, whoever is in doubt of the motive of yours sincerely in his defence of the immediate past governor of Katsina state, in a write up penned and shared on  4-2-2025, over the allegation made against him by the Arewa Unity Forum, should refer to the last two paragraphs of the write up, to get their answer. I still stand by that.

May God, Who created the all the worlds and what is between them, and Who knows and sees what is in His creations’s hearts, protect us from them and their evil intentions.
