Dr. Ibrahim Iyal Gafai Appointed as Deputy Commander of Hisbah in Katsina State

Dr. Ibrahim Iyal Gafai has been appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Hisbah Board in Katsina State. The appointment followed a comprehensive assessment of his qualifications by the Commandant General of the Board, Dr. Aminu Usman Abu Ammar. The announcement was made on Tuesday during an exclusive interview with Katsina Times.
Speaking on the development, Dr. Aminu Usman explained that the selection of Dr. Ibrahim Iyal Gafai, a notable member of the Tijjaniyya sect, was intended to promote unity and collaboration among Muslim communities in the state. “We chose this diligent and visionary individual to strengthen the Hisbah Board and ensure its operations align with our overarching objectives,” he stated.
Dr. Aminu further emphasized the inclusive nature of the Hisbah Board, highlighting its representation of all Islamic sects in Katsina State. “Our team comprises members from various Islamic groups, including Shi’a, Tijjaniyya, Izala, and Qur’aniyyun. This diversity reflects the unity within Katsina’s Muslim community,” he added.
He also revealed that more than 300 youths from the state’s 34 local government areas had been recruited and were currently undergoing training at the Civil Defence Corps offices. “We ensured equitable representation among the recruits to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Hisbah’s operations,” he said.
In his response, Dr. Ibrahim Iyal Gafai expressed his profound gratitude to Dr. Aminu Usman and the Hisbah Board for entrusting him with this responsibility. He described the appointment as an opportunity to serve the people of Katsina State and commended the state government for establishing the Hisbah Board, which he hailed as a transformative initiative, particularly in improving the welfare of married couples in the state.
Dr. Ibrahim pledged to discharge his duties with integrity, dedication, and a commitment to fostering unity and progress in Katsina State.
During the official presentation of his appointment letter, Dr. Ibrahim was accompanied by family members, close associates, and local community leaders. They expressed their joy and appreciation for his achievement and wished him success in his new role.
