New Director of Katsina History and Culture Bureau Outlines Vision After Taking Office

Dr. Kabir Aliyu Masanawa, the newly appointed Director-General of the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau, has pledged a renewed focus on preserving the state's historical heritage and boosting its recognition on a global scale. Speaking shortly after taking over from the former director, Dr. Rabi’u Kurfi, Dr. Masanawa outlined his vision in a meeting with journalists.  

Expressing gratitude to Allah and the Executive Governor of Katsina State for entrusting him with the role, Dr. Masanawa highlighted his enthusiasm and commitment to advancing the bureau's objectives. "I am deeply honored to assume this position and grateful for the confidence placed in me by His Excellency Malam Dikko Umar Radda PhD," he stated. "I have observed the remarkable energy and potential within the bureau, and I am confident we can achieve great strides together."  

Dr. Masanawa emphasized the importance of teamwork and punctuality among the bureau’s staff, urging them to remain diligent and committed to their duties. "I cannot accomplish this task alone; it requires collective effort," he remarked. "I encourage everyone to be punctual and dedicated, as these qualities will help us achieve our goals. In turn, I assure all staff members that their welfare, training, and contributions will be given the utmost priority."  

Among his key priorities is the elevation of significant historical landmarks in Katsina State, such as the Gobarau Minaret, to international prominence. "We aim to ensure that our monuments and historical sites gain recognition as UNESCO World Heritage Sites," he announced. "This will not only preserve our cultural heritage but also promote tourism and education in the state."  

Dr. Masanawa’s leadership comes at a critical time when the preservation of historical artifacts and cultural sites is essential for promoting societal values and fostering national pride. He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the bureau’s operations and achieving measurable progress in the months ahead.  

The change in leadership marks a new chapter for the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau, with stakeholders optimistic about the bureau’s future under Dr. Masanawa's guidance.
