The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin (Maliya) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigerian Political Party’s (NNPP’s) AbdulMumin Kofa are, without any shred of doubt, far from being patriotic Nigerians. They are NOT credible nor are they by any stretch of the imagination responsible politicians. They are simply self serving persons who want to be the next number one citizen and the other to be either number two or continue where he will stop in 2027, at any cost, including selling the whole of their region to realise that ambition.
Because of their respective political ambitions, to be the next governor of Kano state, and to continue being a rent seeker, the duo do not have the interest of the people of the state nor that of the entire North. They decided to abandon the region, because someone had promised them that he would get what they fervently desire in 2027.
But the one who made the promise to the them, whoever and whatever he may be IS NOT God Himself, and therefore, NOT RETURNING to power in 2027, by the Grace of the ONLY God. This is a leader who is supposed to ease difficulties on his citizens, not to increase them, as he does it with apparent glee and satisfaction all the time he is in the country.
While Ghana reduces taxation and value added tax (VAT) on many products and services, so as to make small scale businesses grow, and attract more foreign investment by making the country ‘investment friendly’, the Nigerian president is going on the opposite direction, as a result of which only poverty and hardship are his only reward for majority of the citizens many of whom defied the odds to see him ‘win’ the election.
The disingenuous argument of the Deputy Senate president on why the National Assembly (NASS) should hasten to pass the evilly conceived and designed Tax Reform Bill, even when it is roundly rejected by the National Economic Council (NEC), the Northerners and some people in the Eastern region, are clear pointers that he is occupying that lofty office in the upper chamber to serve nobody but himself. So also is AbdulMumini Kofa.
Experts in the fields of Taxation, Accounts and Law, as well as those fairly knowledgeable about the Tax Reform Bill from the Northern and Eastern regions have vehemently opposed it, because of its hidden intention. Even many clerics from both major religions, have taken to their appropriate preaching beats and expressed strong opposition to the bill, with the Islamic scholars fervently praying for the damnation of the Deputy Senate President and AbdulMumini Kofa.
Why the desperation from the Presidency if the bill was for the equal benefit of the whole states in Nigeria, as they claim? After all, the country is operating Democracy, where the majority is supposed to have its way, and the minority to have its say, which IT did by presenting the bill.
But that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wants the bill passed at all cost and by all means, suggest that there is something hidden in the bill, which would be beneficial to a few states, but NOT all the states in Nigeria.
The undemocratic credentials of the president started to manifest in FULL when he spent trillions of the Nigerian taxpayer’s money to purchase the brand new aircraft to add to the many that idle in the Villa, a brand new yacht and a brand new Cadillac Escalade, as an addition to the official fleet, without notifying the National Assembly. Not long after that, he singlehandedly awarded the N15.6 trillion contract for the construction of the 700km Lagos to Calabar Highway to the company of his Labenon borne ally, Mr. Chagoury.
That the duo not only join the supporters of the Bill, but are trying their best to facilitate its passage against the outcry that trailed its emergence from the president. This has proven that one or two or three things, or even both may not be farfetched. They are definitely over-ambitious to the extent of selling off their region. They also do not appear to care whether or not their Northern brethren are well represented in the present regime, nor does they care about the ordeal their Northern business people are subjected to by the serving regime. For all the people know, they may not originate from the region, which is why their attitude to its plight does not appear to worry them.
A South Eastern man, who opted to refer to present Tinubu led regime as ‘The Federal Yoruba Government of Nigeria, but said that he was not a tribal bigot, alleged that “the president is Yoruba, the minister of finance Yoruba, minister of education Yoruba, minister of trade and industry Yoruba, minister of petroleum Yoruba, minister of Marie and blue economy Yoruba, minister of power Yoruba, minister of justice Yoruba, minister of communication Yoruba, minister of interior, Yoruba, minister of solid minerals Yoruba, EFCC Yoruba, CBN Yoruba, FIRS Yoruba, NIRSAM Yoruba, DG DSS Yoruba, Comptroller General Customs Yoruba and Controller General of immigration Yoruba.
“Chief of Defence Intelligence Yoruba, Permanent Secretary State House Yoruba, Commandant Guards Brigade Yoruba, Inspector General of Police Yoruba, DG BPE Yoruba, DG DPP Yoruba, Chief of Staff Yoruba, Accountant General Yoruba, Head of Service of the Federation Yoruba, FCCPC Yoruba, NEPA Yoruba, NIMASA, Yoruba, NSITF Yoruba, PENCOM Yoruba, AMCOM Yoruba and FCDA Yoruba.
“NAFDAC Yoruba, NIDCOM Yoruba, NOA Yoruba, NEPZA Yoruba, Retired CJN Yoruba, Current CJN Yoruba, Former Chief of Army Staff Yoruba and the Current Chief of Army Staff Yoruba. Only yesterday, the Federal Yoruba Government made four appointments to the post of DGs to the same parastatals, and three of those were given to Yoruba people, namely Mr. Olawole Olapode, Director General National Sports Commission, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, Director General National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism and Dr. Adebowale Adekoku, Director General Bureau of Public Procurement”.
President Tinubu goes about the appointment of his people without any remorse or apology, as if he is on a mission to hand over the country to them in the South West, despite the fact that majority of them rejected him at the polls, because they knew he lacks the capacity to rule the country. They also believed that the president only came to enrich himself, not to help develop the nation. Despite the huge amount he was alleged to have spent in the area, alleged to be almost twice what he gave in the entire North, to woe them into voting for him in 2023, most of them still did not vote for him. Only his few boys and paid foot soldiers went to the polls for him.
And the North, which he was unintelligently told did not like him, gave him around 65% of the votes that won him the presidency. He is now ‘paying’ back the favour, by trying his best to crush the region by all means, fair and foul, but mostly by foul means.
Again, some people are surprised at the frequency with which the president flies out of the country, when they ought to know that an agent ‘has no time for himself, he can be summoned by his controller (s) wherever he or they may be at a moment’s notice’. And such a person, whatever or whoever he may be, must obey as commanded or face the risk of being thrown out into the cold.
President Tinubu’s romance with the frogs (nickname for the French, perhaps for their love of eating the amphibian animal), may not be unconnected with the above, and the fact that they also want to sneak their military base into Nigeria, like their friend and NATO allies, the Yanks (nickname for the US, perhaps derived after NewYork) did, by ‘building the largest Consulate in the world’, in Lagos, Nigeria.
My advice to their political parties is NOT to field them for any office in 2027, as they are definitely going to hit the dust at the polls. If the parties insist on fielding them in the 2027 general elections for any office, then all the voters, who are proud of their state (KANO), should leave the candidate of their respective political parties and vote for candidates that are proud men from Kano state, and good compatriots to boot.
May God give the Nigerian voter the courage and determination to disgrace them and their self-serving likes, OUT of power ignominiously for good.
