The Katsina State Government, through the Office of Senior Special Assistant (SSA) for Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja, has provided financial assistance to the families of security officers from the Katsina Community Watch who lost their lives in ambush attacks in Batsari, Danmusa local governments.

The families of the fallen officers received a compensation of one million naira each, while the families of vigilantes (non-members of the Katsina Community Watch) were given five hundred thousand naira each. Additionally, families of civilians who lost their lives received two hundred thousand naira each, and those who were captured during the attack were given one hundred thousand naira.

Danja further stated that individuals who sustained injuries received two hundred thousand naira, while non-security personnel received fifty thousand naira. He emphasized that the aid was distributed according to a well-structured plan for each group affected by the tragedy.

He also explained that the government invited the beneficiaries to the Katsina State Government House to collect the funds for security reasons. Addressing rumors that some people were demanding a share of the beneficiaries' compensation, Danja denied the allegations, saying, "We are unaware of such incidents, and we have not received any complaints. If anyone experiences such a situation, they should report it to us or the security agencies, and we will take appropriate action."

Danja assured the public that their office is always open for any concerns or complaints, and he urged anyone affected to reach out with details. He warned that the government will not tolerate any actions that tarnish its reputation, especially concerning individuals who have sacrificed their lives for the safety of the community.

In an interview with Katsina Times, some beneficiaries from Danmusa local government expressed concerns over allegations that certain individuals were demanding a portion of their compensation. Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja, however, refuted these claims, asserting that such actions did not occur through his office. He further assured that stringent measures will be taken against anyone found guilty of such misconduct.
