Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Backs Tinubu Government's Push for Western Education in Almajiri Schools

Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, leader of Nigeria's Tijjaniya sect, has expressed his full support for the federal government's plan to integrate western education into the curriculum of Almajiri schools.
The endorsement came during a visit by Dr. Muhammad Sani Idris, Secretary General of the Board of Disciples and Education of Out-of-School Children, to Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi in Bauchi.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi emphasized the Tijjaniya Sect's commitment to initiatives that foster societal and economic development in the country.
Dr. Idris explained that his visit aimed to seek Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi's blessing as he embarked on educational reforms for Almajiri students, addressing the issue of millions of children who are out of school and roaming the streets. He highlighted that this collaboration would equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete effectively both within Nigeria and globally.
Dr. Idris also noted President Bola Tinubu's deep concern for the plight of Almajiri children and other out-of-school youths, reaffirming the president's commitment to resolving this critical issue comprehensively.
