A former coach of Katsina United, Usman Abdallah, has thumbed up the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) players’ status committee for responding promptly to cases brought before it by aggrieved parties.

Last Friday, the committee met in Abuja to adjudicate on cases brought before it by players, coaches and other officials in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Most of the cases had to do with non-payment of salaries and indiscriminate termination of appointments by the NPFL clubs.

Abdallah whose case of non-payment of salaries and allowances against Katsina United was exhaustively treated said the setting up of the committee by the NFF president Ibrahim Gusau, is a game changer.

Speaking to Daily Trust, the former Super Eagles assistant coach said he was surprised by the speed with which the committee responded to their complaints.

“My case against Katsina United was among over 100 cases that were treated by the players’ status committee. I was impressed with the handling of the cases by the committee.

“I had lost hope but based on the resolution at the meeting, I am not confident that I will get all my entitlements from Katsina United. The club agreed to pay my money in three instalments beginning from the end of this month.

“Honestly, I had to personally commend the committee members on the sincerity and professionalism they exhibited. Based on what I witnessed, I can say there is still hope for Nigerian football.
