The Katsina State Police Command has presented cheques totaling ₦28,012,584.70 to families of 25 deceased police officers who served in the command.
The presentation was conducted on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Katsina State Police Command Headquarters, as part of the welfare package of the Inspector-General of Police for families of officers who died in the line of duty.
The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Ali Umar Fage, expressed condolences to the beneficiaries and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased officers.
Fage described the fallen officers as gallant personnel who served the country with dedication and paid the ultimate price in the course of their duties.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the financial assistance judiciously to meet their immediate needs and support their future wellbeing.
The commissioner also commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for his commitment to the welfare of police personnel and families of officers who lost their lives in service.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alkasim Salisu thanked the Inspector-General of Police and the Katsina State Commissioner of Police for the financial support.
He assured that the funds would be used responsibly and prayed for continued guidance and protection for officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Katsina State Police Command said it remained committed to supporting serving personnel as well as families of deceased officers, in line with the welfare priorities of the Nigeria Police Force.
