Associate Professor Kamaladdeen Kabir has assumed leadership of the Katsina State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), following the merger of the agency with the Community Development Programme (CDP).

The development followed an amendment to the relevant law by the Katsina State House of Assembly, with the merger approved by Governor Dikko Umar Radda.

Associate Professor Kabir, who is the State Coordinator of CDP, formally took over the affairs of the CSDA during a handover ceremony attended by government officials and staff of the agency.

Speaking after assuming office, Kabir commended Governor Radda for implementing various development projects across the state, particularly initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of residents.

He pledged to discharge the additional responsibility effectively and efficiently, while assuring staff that his administration would operate an open-door policy.

The new CSDA leadership also urged staff to intensify their efforts in carrying out their responsibilities, warning that laxity and abuse of office would not be tolerated.

Kabir, however, assured workers of his commitment to staff welfare and disclosed that he would recommend to the state government the possibility of engaging some workers on contract, subject to a needs assessment.

He commended the outgoing General Manager of CSDA, Alhaji Muhammad Dikko Abdul’aziz, for what he described as excellent performance during his tenure and wished him success in his new assignment.

In his handover remarks, Abdul’aziz thanked Allah for enabling him to complete his tenure successfully and commended CSDA staff for their cooperation and commitment during his administration.

He urged the staff to maintain the same level of commitment under the new leadership and appealed to them to extend the support and cooperation they gave him to Associate Professor Kabir.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of the State Civil Service, Alhaji Ado Yahaya, directors of the Community Development Programme and members of staff of the CSDA.
