The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has joined sympathisers across the country in mourning the passing of Mrs. Mary Amaechi, mother of the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Rotimi Amaechi.

In a condolence message issued on Thursday, the party expressed sorrow over her death and extended its support to the former Rivers governor and his family as they navigate the difficult period of grief.

The message, signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, described the late Mrs. Amaechi as a woman whose life was defined by devotion to family, selfless sacrifice, and a commitment to values that continue to inspire those she left behind.

According to the ADC, her legacy goes beyond family ties, noting that mothers play a critical role in shaping lives through their guidance, love, and unwavering support.

The party said the impact of Mrs. Amaechi’s life would continue to resonate through the generations she nurtured and the principles she imparted to her children and loved ones.

While acknowledging the deep pain that accompanies the loss of a mother, the ADC urged the family to take comfort in the memories of a life well lived and the widespread goodwill being expressed by friends, associates, and Nigerians across the country.

It noted that the enduring influence of the deceased and the values she embodied would remain a source of strength for her family in the days ahead.

The party also offered prayers for the repose of her soul, asking God to grant the bereaved family courage, comfort, and peace as they mourn their beloved matriarch.

The condolences were conveyed on behalf of ADC National Chairman, Sen. David Mark, members of the National Working Committee, and party supporters nationwide, who collectively expressed solidarity with the Amaechi family during the period of mourning.
