The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has directed all its branches and chapters worldwide to observe special prayers for Nigeria, seeking divine intervention in addressing the country's growing security and socio-economic challenges.
The National Public Relations Secretary of the organisation, Alhaji Shamsideen Oseni, announced the initiative in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos.
Oseni said the prayer sessions would focus on seeking God's protection, wisdom for leaders, national peace, and stability across the country.
He expressed confidence that through sincere prayers, responsible governance, improved security measures and collective efforts by citizens, Nigeria would overcome its current challenges and attain greater peace, safety and prosperity.
“Prayer remains a powerful source of hope, strength and moral renewal, especially in periods of uncertainty and hardship,” he said.
The NASFAT spokesman urged members, stakeholders and other Nigerians to participate actively in the global prayer exercise, describing it as a demonstration of unity, compassion and commitment to national development.
According to him, the initiative underscores the organisation’s dedication to promoting peace, justice, harmony and sustainable development in the country.
Oseni also reaffirmed NASFAT’s support for lawful and constructive initiatives aimed at tackling insecurity and strengthening peaceful coexistence among diverse communities.
He condemned the persistent wave of insecurity across the nation, noting that recurring attacks on innocent citizens and communities remained a major source of concern.
The spokesperson lamented the continued loss of lives, destruction of property and livelihoods, as well as the growing climate of fear in many parts of the country.
He stressed that peace, security and social stability are critical to national development, economic growth and the overall well-being of citizens.
Oseni further called on government authorities, security agencies, traditional rulers and citizens to deepen collaboration in efforts to safeguard lives and property and restore public confidence across communities nationwide.
