Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have recorded fresh successes in ongoing counter-terrorism operations across Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, arresting suspected terrorist collaborators, disrupting logistics networks and recovering weapons and ammunition.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Joint Task Force (North East) said troops arrested several suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP logistics suppliers during intelligence-led operations. Among them was a suspect apprehended at Benisheikh Market in Borno State while transporting 30 litres of petrol allegedly meant for terrorists.
The military also arrested another suspected informant and logistics supplier in Maiduguri, as well as an absconded soldier who allegedly deserted his unit with a rifle and was later linked to criminal activities, including robbery.
In separate operations, troops apprehended suspected kidnappers and criminal syndicate members in Biu and Gubio areas of Borno State, while two suspected ISWAP members were arrested in Adamawa State with the support of local hunters.
The task force further disclosed that a Boko Haram/ISWAP fighter surrendered with two children in the Kukawa axis following sustained military pressure. Troops also recovered rocket-propelled grenade bombs and PKT ammunition during offensive operations around Damboa.
According to the military, 13 detainees were handed over to relevant authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
Operation HADIN KAI said the operations have significantly disrupted terrorist networks, weakened their logistics base and reduced their operational capabilities across the North-East. The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on insurgents and ensuring lasting peace and security in the region.
