For many years of her service in the Katsina State Government, no one had ever seen her face. She is widely respected as a woman deeply committed to her faith, as she is always seen wearing the niqab.
However, quite suddenly, she was given the ticket to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives for the Mani and Bindawa federal constituency under the APC.
Surprisingly, various photos of her without the niqab have begun circulating on social media. Has she set it aside temporarily, or has she abandoned it entirely? There has been no explanation.
By the conduct of those strongly devoted to their faith, they usually avoid matters that carry suspicion or controversy. Yet, the process of selecting the APC candidate in Mani and Bindawa has been surrounded by allegations of serious irregularities—not merely doubts, but claims of outright wrongdoing.
So, why did she accept this candidacy despite these concerns and despite her public image as a devout woman?
