The Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, has inaugurated a one-day sensitisation and capacity-building workshop on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework for members of the State Executive Council.
The workshop, organised by the Katsina State Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA), was designed to strengthen the structure and effective implementation of PPP arrangements in the state.
Declaring the workshop open, Governor Radda urged participants to fully grasp the principles and operational models of PPPs, stressing that a proper understanding of the framework would enhance service delivery and improve the efficiency of government projects.
He noted that partnerships between government and the private sector remain critical to accelerating infrastructure development and reducing pressure on public finances.
In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of KIPA, Alhaji Ibrahim Tukur Jikamshi, said the workshop was organised to equip government agencies with practical strategies for leveraging private sector participation to drive development while minimising direct expenditure from the state treasury.
According to him, the PPP initiative is aimed at ensuring value for money, transparency and sustainable economic growth in Katsina State.
The event was attended by commissioners, special advisers and other senior government officials.
