The Nigerian government has declared Wednesday, September 27, 2023 as a holiday to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as the Minister of Internal Affairs, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has stated.

While announcing this in Abuja, he congratulated the entire Muslim community on the anniversary.

"His advice to Nigerians is to purify their hearts and show love, patience and tolerance which are the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)," said the secretary general of the ministry, Oluwatoyin Akinlade in a statement. .

"The Honorable Minister urged Nigerians, especially the youth, to embrace the spirit of hard work and peace with each other, regardless of religion, creed or ethnicity."
