A young author, Umar Ahmad, in 2017, wrote a book in the Hausa language titled Zuriyar Madawaki Masari ldris. It is a research on the origin of the people of Masari town in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Three prominent academics and historians, Professor Musa Ahmad Karkarku, Dr. Aliyu Muhammad Muri and Dr. Murtala Muhammad Mashi  all from the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University edited the work for

content accuracy.

Apart from Governor Aminu Bello Masari, some other seasoned politicians and civil servants hail from Masari. The book gives in-dept analysis of the Governor Aminu Bello Masari family tree and also provides pictorials and brief bio-data.

From all indications, as contained in the book and the sheer size of the family tree, the Masari clan may well be described as among the largest families in the state.

Indeed, the Madawaki Masari Idris clan, comprising 15 households, has remained a force to be reckoned with over several years. 

The lineages of the Madawaki Masari Idris clan as listed in the book are, Gidan Adamu (Turaki), Gidan Abubakar (Dawaki), Gidan Hauwa’u I, Gidan Sa’adatu (Pendo).

Gidan Suleiman (Manu), Gidan Mariya (Kadi), Gidan Hassan I, Gidan Madawaki Abubakar (Danbarugu), Gidan Binta (Yarturai), Gidan Hauwa’u 2, Gidan Magaji Tora Kabir, Gidan Ado (Danturai), Gidan Hussainí, Gidan Umaru Dan Inna and Gidan Abdullahi (Audu).

The book gives precise periods that each of the ruling houses took turns to preside over the clan starting from the 1926-1942 with Madawaki Masari Idris on the throne and between the years of 1947-1973 it was Madawaki Abubakar popularly known as Danbarugum who ruled. And between 1973-1985. it was the era of Madawakin Masari Abdullahi  (Audu) and between 1985 to date.

Madawakin Masari Isyaku has at the helm of affairs in the area. 

On the other hand, the village head of Tora between 1999-2001 was Abdulkadir while Alhaji Kabir has been the village head from 2001 to date.

The book notes that the Masari town was formally known as Rinjin Gaude before the year 1904 and its origin linked to a stream called Masari that stretches to Unguwar Gauda in Tora land.

Gaude is said to be of Fulani extraction and a pastoralist who lived on the western axis of Kafur town. In 1915 after the arrival of the British colonialists, the then Emir of Katsina, Muhammad Dikko, bulkanised the Galadima land into village heads of Ruwan Sanyi, Dayi, Dansarai, Gora, been at the helm of affairs in the Yanmama, Makaurachi, Ganzago, Dantuttur, Dan Ranko Mahuta, Rigoji, Yartalata, Dangaliman Kafur, Masari, Kuringafa, Sabuwar Kasa, Rataya, Kanya and Sarkin Gozaki.
