NPC Chairman Advocates for Increased Funding Ahead of 2025 Budget Presentation
The Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, today led a delegation comprising Federal Commissioners, the Director-General, and senior officials to present the Commission's 2024 Budget Performance and defend the proposed 2025 budget before the House of Representatives Committee on National Identity and Population at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
In his address, Hon. Kwarra highlighted the pressing need for additional funding to enhance the Commission’s operations and meet its objectives. He emphasized the importance of supporting the upcoming Population and Housing Census, announcing that a separate budget proposal for the exercise would be submitted to the National Assembly once presidential approval is secured.
Responding to the presentation, the Chairman of the House Committee, Hon. Okunjimi Odimayo, underscored the necessity of utilizing allocated funds efficiently. He assured the Commission of the House's commitment to supporting its initiatives, particularly in preparation for the anticipated Census.
