Former Nigerian House of Representatives member, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Chindo, also known as the Sadaukin Katsina, has called on the newly elected leaders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina Local Government Area to unite as they prepare for the upcoming local government elections scheduled for next year.
Chindo made this appeal on Saturday when the newly elected officials of the Katsina Local Government PDP paid him a courtesy visit following their successful election.
In his address, the former lawmaker emphasized the importance of patience, confidentiality, and solidarity among party leaders at the local government level to ensure victory in the forthcoming elections.
"Everyone is aware of the challenging situation our country is currently facing. In such times, the people look to us for leadership. We are confident of success in the local government elections because we have received credible reports that even the opposition is reconsidering their candidates, acknowledging their shortcomings," Chindo remarked.
He further commended Honorable Yasir Abubakar, the PDP candidate for the chairmanship of Katsina Local Government, highlighting his integrity and leadership qualities. Chindo expressed his belief that Yasir Abubakar is the right person to lead the local government, citing his strong moral character and commitment to public service.
Earlier in the meeting, the newly elected chairman of the PDP in Katsina Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, recounted how the election was conducted in an orderly manner, with security agencies present to ensure a smooth process. He expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him by the party members and vowed to work diligently with his seven vice-chairmen and the National Delegate to strengthen the party's position in the local government ahead of the elections.
Galadima assured Chindo that the party leadership in Katsina Local Government would remain united and committed to the goals of the PDP, particularly in securing victory in the upcoming elections. He also acknowledged the crucial role of party elders like Chindo in guiding and mentoring the new leadership as they navigate the political landscape in the state.
