Katsina LG Chairman joins other council heads in two-day retreat to boost health scheme implementation across the state
The Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KATSCHMA) has concluded a two-day strategic sensitization retreat aimed at strengthening the implementation of the State’s Contributory Healthcare Scheme at the grassroots level.
The retreat, held at Comfort Hub Hotel in Kano, brought together Local Government Chairmen from across the state for capacity-building sessions focused on promoting enrollment, improving oversight, and ensuring wider access to healthcare services under the scheme.
Among the prominent attendees was the Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Hon. Isah Miqdad AD-Saude, who actively participated in the high-level discussions. His presence and contributions reflected a strong commitment to advancing community-based healthcare reforms in line with the universal health coverage agenda of Governor Dikko Umar Radda, PhD.
Hon. Miqdad emphasized the vital role local governments must play in championing the health scheme at the ward and community levels. He reiterated his administration's resolve to work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective awareness and service delivery for residents of Katsina Local Government.
The retreat marks another step forward in the state’s efforts to improve healthcare access, especially for underserved populations, through strategic partnerships and strengthened local governance.
