Muttaqa Rabe-Darma has arrived in Yobe State to supervise the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state.

Reports indicated that the minister’s visit is part of efforts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure a transparent, credible and peaceful primary election process.

The primary election is expected to determine the party’s governorship candidate ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election, as party leaders and delegates from various parts of the state continue to converge for the exercise.

Political observers say the deployment of a senior federal government official such as Engr. Muttaqa Rabe-Darma to oversee the exercise reflects the importance the APC attaches to its primary elections across the country.

The exercise is also being viewed as a crucial stage in the party’s preparations for future governorship elections in Nigeria.
