NPC Chairman Updates SGF on 2023 Census Implementation, SGF Assures Full Support

The Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, reiterated the vital role that the census plays in national development during a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, CON, in Abuja. Hon. Kwarra provided an update on the progress made in the preparations for the upcoming Population and Housing Census.
Highlighting the achievements of the Commission, Hon. Kwarra mentioned the successful completion of the Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) exercise, the recruitment and training of census personnel, and the development of a comprehensive census master plan.
Emphasizing the need for adequate funding and resources, Hon. Kwarra called on all Nigerians to actively participate in the census. He stressed the importance of their involvement in ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the collected data.
In response, the SGF expressed the unwavering commitment of the Federal Government to the success of the 2023 Population and Housing Census. The SGF assured Hon. Kwarra of the government’s full support in providing the necessary assistance.
