Katsina State Executive Council Approves Major Infrastructure Projects

Katsina State Executive Council, led by the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, has approved a series of strategic infrastructure projects during its 12th Regular Executive Council Meeting.

"The Katsina State Government is dedicated to providing world-class infrastructure that will not only enhance the mobility of our citizens but also stimulate economic growth and investment in the state," said the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal.

Briefing the journalists after the council meeting, the State Commissioner of Words and Transport, Engr. Sani Magaji Ingawa, announced the approval of several infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and revitalizing urban areas within the state. These include:

The approval of a 1.2-kilometer road project connecting the Funtua Central Mosque Roundabout to the Tsohuwar Kasuwa-Zaria Road-Sokoto By Pass Road, valued at 637 million Naira. This project is expected to improve accessibility and ease traffic flow in the Funtua zone.

The dualization of a 5.95-kilometer stretch of road connecting the Sokoto Road, Jabiri Road, Central Mosque Roundabout, and the General Hospital Road, further enhancing urban transportation.

The reconstruction and dualization of a 3.9-kilometer section of the Funtua to Katsina Road, starting from the Central Mosque Roundabout to the Dutsen Rimi Roundabout, which will be awarded to the Mother Cats Construction Company.

These strategic infrastructure investments align with the state government's commitment to driving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for the people of Katsina.

The meeting was attended by key government officials, including Commissioners, Special Advisers, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, the Secretary to the Government of the State, and the Head of the Civil Service, deliberated on essential matters concerning the development of the state in sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, security, human development, and water supply.
