NAHCON says selected carriers must meet Nigerian and Saudi aviation requirements before operations begin.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the approval of five air carriers for the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims during the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The commission said the selection followed a screening and evaluation process conducted by its Aviation Screening Committee, based on safety, operational capacity and financial requirements.
The approved carriers are Max Air Limited, Air Peace Limited, Flynas, Saudi Air and UMZA Aviation Services Limited.
According to NAHCON, the engagement of the carriers remains subject to the execution of airlift agreements with the commission and fulfilment of requirements set by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
The commission said passenger allocations and airlift schedules would be developed in collaboration with State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies and Commissions, as well as the selected operators.
It added that all carriers would be required to comply with regulations for the 2027 Hajj, including the issuance of tickets linked to pilgrims’ Nusuk-Masar data and strict adherence to aviation safety standards.
NAHCON also said pilgrims would be subject to the prescribed baggage allowance of one 32kg bag and one 8kg hand luggage, in line with regulatory requirements.
The commission urged State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, agencies, intending pilgrims and other stakeholders to cooperate with the approved airlines to ensure a safe, smooth and comfortable airlift operation for Nigerian pilgrims.
The notice was issued by NAHCON management on Thursday, 13 August 2026.
