The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, PhD, has held a series of strategic meetings with key stakeholders in the housing sector as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and improve housing delivery across Nigeria.
The minister held separate engagements with representatives of the Real Estate Marketers and Consultants Association of Nigeria (REMCAS), the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria (CIPMNI), and Signature Advisory Group Limited at his office in Abuja.
The meetings focused on exploring areas of partnership and identifying practical ways through which government and private-sector stakeholders can work together to address challenges confronting the housing sector.
Discussions also centred on strengthening the housing value chain and creating more effective partnerships capable of supporting the delivery of decent, affordable and accessible housing to Nigerians.
The engagements underscore the ministry’s commitment to broad stakeholder participation in the development of the country’s housing sector.
The ministry said collaboration with professional bodies, real estate practitioners, project management experts and other relevant stakeholders remained critical to achieving sustainable growth in the sector.
It added that leveraging the expertise and resources of key players in the private sector would complement government efforts to address the country’s housing deficit and improve access to quality housing.
The meetings are part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to deepen partnerships and develop sustainable strategies for the growth of Nigeria’s housing sector.
