Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep sympathy to the people of Dangamau community in Kusada Local Government Area following the windstorm and heavy rainfall that destroyed homes and livelihoods during the week.
Governor Radda described the incident that displaced not less than 200 house, shops and properties as painful and unfortunate, noting that the loss of shelter and property has brought hardship to families in the community.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Katsina State, I commiserate with the victims of this disaster in Dangamau. We feel your pain and we will not leave you alone at this time,” the Governor said.
The Governor has directed relevant agencies to move quickly and assess the extent of the damage. He assured that the State Government is already working to provide immediate relief materials and support to affected households.
“Efforts are in top gear to bring succour to the displaced persons. Food, shelter and other basic needs will be provided without delay,” he added.
Governor Radda also urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with emergency teams on ground as government works to restore normalcy in the area.
He prayed for the safety of all residents and for Allah to avert a recurrence of such incidents.
